Water & Millican

Every day we walk our 4-legged friend Archie by the lake near our home, Derwent Water. Just over a year old, he's as bouncy as when he joined us and being a true labrador, he loves water.
Arch has proven to be a real gift to us - reminding us of the importance of play, love & loyalty on a daily basis. And he gets us out at least twice a day. Not bad for a 1 year old ....
PS - looking across the lake we can see both Lodore Farm (where Millican Dalton initially lived in his tent) and Castle Crag, home of Millican's cave. Terrible views really.

Millican & Water

As a pre-amble to our very first event next week, the team at the Keswick Mountain Festival gave us a chance to say a few words in their weekly newsletter.

Since our waterbottles, Andy & Simon, are the first products we will be selling at our stand, we figured "water" would be a good topic for the outdoor adventurers subscribing to the KMF newsletter.

Of course Andy & Simon will be joined by our other friends - Millican's full collection of organic cotton canvas bags, recycled polyester lined rucksack and vegetable tanned leather goods will be out on show for the first time EVER.

We're rather excited about that ...

National TV for Millican

Millican Dalton made it onto the BBC2 again with a replay of the Wainwright Walks series with Julia Bradbury earlier tonight.

While Julia climbed Castle Crag in typically variable Borrowdale weather, she described that "Millican swapped his life as an insurance clerk in London for a life of adventure and freedom in the outdoors". The cave on Castle Crag he used to live in was a dis-used quarry, originally used to quarry slate for stone walling.

From local legend to national presence ....
